It is my belief, that the Athletes taking part in our games, have to have a more integral and high profile role. This, I also believe, is long overdue.

The reasoning for this, is so we may preserve the history, format, and tradition stemming from the very first gathering in Ceres, in the year of 1314, in the Kingdom of Fife be preserved and homage paid to the brave people that decided to act against tyranny, and simply be free.

Thus, bringing the athletes and indeed the clans closer into our ‘family’ and paying homage to their important role within the celebrations of our games is something I am personally proud of. In my first year of office I am personally excited that what I always wished to see is now taking place.

The athletes, demonstrating feats of strength, through various disciplines are an inspiration to us all. - Jimmy Rodden Vice-President.

Welcome Athletes to the 47th Maine HighlandGames

🌟 BIG NEWS FROM THE MAINE HIGHLAND GAMES! 🌟

We are proud to introduce a brand‑new format for our Scottish Heavy Athletics moving forward—and we couldn’t be more excited for what this means for our athletes and our Games!

This new structure reflects our commitment to fairness, inclusivity, and excellence across the board. From this year forward, all athletes—men and women alike—will receive equal treatment and equal prizes for every contest. Strength, skill, and dedication deserve to be celebrated equally, and we are thrilled to stand firmly behind that principle.

💪 A massive thank‑you to our outstanding Athletic Directors, Will Barron & Robert Troupe!
Your hard work, vision, and passion have created a major stepping stone for the future of Scottish Heavy Athletics. Your leadership is helping shape an environment where every athlete has the opportunity to shine.

A special thank you to Bill Crawford for his wisdom, advice and support behind the scenes, the society values our freindship very much.

👏 Way to go!
Here’s to honoring tradition, elevating the sport, and building a stronger future together.
