JOIN US AS WE MAKE HISTORY IN 2026

Dear Potential Sponsor,

For nearly five decades, the Maine Highland Games & Scottish Festival has welcomed thousands of visitors to celebrate the extraordinary traditions, athleticism, music, and community spirit of Scottish culture. Hosted by the Saint Andrew’s Society of Maine, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving and promoting Scottish heritage through education, outreach, scholarship, and performance, the Games continue to grow in size, prestige, and impact year after year https://www.mainehighlandgames.org

As we look ahead to August 8th, 2026, we are proud to say that the Maine Highland Games are rapidly becoming the premier Highland Games in New England—and your support is a key part of that momentum.

What Makes 2026 Our Most Ambitious Year Yet

A New Era for Pipe Band Competitions

This year features several major enhancements designed to position Maine as a top destination for pipe bands across the Northeast and beyond, including:

*Substantial award prizes

*Hotel partnerships for competitors and guests

*On‑site camping and RV space to support expanded attendance of 2026

The New England Heavy Events Championship

Held at the Windsor Fairgrounds, this major athletic championship will include:

*Pro, Amateur, Masters, Invitational, and Adaptive divisions

*Both men’s and women’s competitions across multiple classes

*Bonus events including the New England Farmers Walk and Sheaf Toss with cash awards

These competitions attract top athletes from across New England, the United States, and abroad, reinforcing our standing as a world‑class festival of strength and heritage.

Why Your Partnership Matters

Your sponsorship directly supports:

*Cultural preservation, ensuring the continuation of music, dance, athletics, history, and storytelling

*A major regional tourism draw that boosts local businesses and the wider Maine economy

*Educational and community programs run by the Saint Andrew’s Society of Maine throughout the year

*Performance, scholarship, and cultural outreach initiatives that keep Scottish traditions alive

Our attendees represent multiple generations and backgrounds, but all come together to celebrate a shared love of culture, history, and community. By sponsoring, your organization becomes part of this powerful and growing tradition.

A Letter From One Of Our Sponsors

Sponsorships for the Maine Highland Games and Scottish Festivap™

Thoughts from Some Established Donors.

As established donors, we are gratified to be able to continue to contribute to the Saint Andrew's Society

of Maine ("SASME") in support o f the 2026 Maine Highland Games and Scottish Festival™, and we

strongly encourage businesses and other organizations to consider becoming sponsors of this significant

Maine event.

For many years, the Maine Highland Games and Scottish Festival™ has provided, for those of Scottish

descent, an important connection to their Scottish heritage, and for everyone, a way to experience the

unique culture and spirit that are embodied in Festival events like the Heavy Athletics, involving

extraordinary feats of strength and skill, and the soul-stirring performances of some great musicians, such

as the incomparable Scottish band Albannach, the legendary Celtic soloist Charlie Zahm, and the skilled

Pipers who bring forth the compelling, ethereal sound of the Great Highland Pipes.

In addition to the Heavy Athletics and captivating musical performances, the Festival offers a variety of

other opportunities, such as a chance to try traditional Scottish food, shop for Scottish-themed gifts and

crafts, marvel at the Stone Lifting Demo, and investigate the history, and meet members, of Scottish Clans

by visiting one or more of the many different Clan Tents.

There are numerous other attractions, and in our view the Festival is well-designed to appeal to the whole

Family, young and old. (We also like the on-site parking and the multi-toilet bathrooms with running

water.)

With its recent move to the Windsor Fairgrounds near Augusta, and its 2025 hosting of the Scottish Heavy

Athletics Men's World Championship, the Maine Highland Games and Scottish Festival™ seems well-

positioned to grow in popularity. We think that makes it ideal for consideration by Maine businesses and

other organizations that can benefit through sponsorship via greater exposure to the thousands of people

that attend this important Maine event. Sponsorships also helps promote and preserve a local Maine

festival and the Scottish heritage and culture that it embodies.

For all the above reasons, we urge businesses and other organizations to consider becoming a sponsor and

to reach out to the SASME President Shari Rodden President@SaintAndrewsMaine.org or Games Chair,

Daniele Cote GamesChair@SaintAndrewsMaine.org for more information, including the benefits to your

business or organization that SASME can provide in recognition of your sponsorship.

Sincerely,

Laurie McPhee and Bill MePhee
